Yamuna Forzani

Biography

Yamuna Forzani (b. 1993, UK) is a multidisciplinary artist and queer activist whose work envisions a vibrant queer utopia rooted in community, celebration, and resistance. Working across textile, performance, and social practice, Forzani merges fashion, design, and activism to create immersive spaces where identity and collective joy intertwine.

Her knitted textiles—produced at the Textile Museum Tilburg using advanced 3D and jacquard techniques—form the foundation of her visual language. These works expand beyond material craft to become garments, sculptures, and environments that invite participation and belonging.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague (2012–2016), Forzani’s practice blurs the boundaries between art, fashion, and community organising, transforming acts of making into acts of care. Her works are held in the collections of the TextielMuseum Tilburg, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem, and Kunstmuseum Den Haag.
