Enseoul presents As Bloom Begins, a group exhibition that reflects on the yearning for spring in the depth of January, when warmth, colour and liveliness feel remote yet remain quietly in motion beneath the surface. Winter and spring here operate as metaphors for the oscillation between dark days and the fragile, often hidden presence of hope.

Featuring works by Tosja van Lieshout, Clara Schweers, Delphine Lejeune, Kurina Sohn and Sun Lee, the exhibition turns towards the unseen processes that precede renewal: buds forming underground and emotional states shifting towards light long before they become visible.

From flower paintings to reimagined glass blossoms that defy categorisation, and sculptures crafted from traditional Korean Hanji paper, the exhibition underscores a shared attentiveness to what prepares itself out of sight.

As Bloom Begins suggests that growth persists even when winter obscures it. By foregrounding the tension between what can be perceived and what quietly unfolds, the exhibition becomes a meditation on hope and faith, forces that endure despite the season’s insistence on stillness.
